Blood and Body Fluid Exposure Services

Carle Occupational Medicine has years of experience caring for employees who have had a needle stick injury or other blood or body fluid exposure.

Occupational medicine technicians are on call 24 hours a day and able to offer care for blood and bodily fluid exposure.

 Post-injury process:
  • Report incident immediately
  • Report to the nearest Carle Occupational Medicine location or call to complete blood and body fluid exposure worksheet by phone
  • Obtain baseline blood work
  • Obtain baseline blood work on source of exposure
  • Determine if exposure is high-risk or low-risk
  • Seek treatment
  • Obtain generated reports
