URBANA – Tracy Spencer, RN, a Family Medicine nurse at Carle Clinic - Champaign on Curtis, was the recipient of the February 2009 Clinical Nurse Excellence Award. 

Established in 2006, this award recognizes nurses whose practice and commitment to the profession have been characterized by consistent excellence. It is bestowed by the Carle Clinic Clinical Excellence Committee and the Carle Foundation Hospital Auxiliary to  Carle Clinic nurses nominated by their peers.

Spencer, a nurse preceptor, is active within Carle Clinic, serving on nursing councils and assisting in the Anticoagulation Management Services department. She graduated with a nursing degree in 2004 and has been employed at Carle Clinic since 2005. Spencer resides in Tolono with her husband and three children.
