URBANA – Carle Clinic – Urbana on Windsor, located in southeast Urbana at the intersection of Myra Ridge and Windsor Road, opens Monday, August 4, 2008. An identical facility on Curtis Road opened just two weeks ago.
“We understand our patients are busy, and they want to see a physician who’s close to home,” said Carle Clinic President and Chief Executive Officer R. Bruce Wellman, MD. “By opening the new Urbana facility and adding a second Convenient Care location, we intend to provide patients with the convenience they expect.”
Solidifying Carle Clinic’s commitment to Urbana and the surrounding area, the new facilities enable the Clinic to add services, hire more providers and ultimately expand access to care.
On Monday, providers move from the facilities on Philo Road and from the main campus to the Urbana on Windsor location to see patients in the 68,000 square-foot building, which features more than 90 exam rooms. Adult and Family Medicine, Dermatology, Geriatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Psychology are also located in the facility. Expanded reproductive medicine services, including fertility treatment, are also in the new space.
Carle Clinic’s second Convenient Care, staffed by physicians, will open September 2008.
Nearly 800 patients will be seen daily at the new Urbana clinic. Self check-in technology, similar to airport check-in kiosks and grocery store scanners, will be available for patients to check-in for appointments and update personal information without visiting the front desk.
Patients will appreciate plenty of free parking, on-site laboratory and imaging, a drive-through pharmacy and Latté Da café and coffee shop. MTD bus service to the intersection of Windsor Road and Myra Ridge begins August 17.
The community is invited to attend an open house on Sunday, August 10, from 2 – 4 p.m. at Carle Clinic – Champaign on Curtis, 1701 W. Curtis Road, and Urbana on Windsor, 1818 E. Windsor Road.
