Telephone Consultation Nurse

The Patient Advisory Services Department provides comprehensive services to assist patients with their medical concerns via telephone contact. Services include

• General information
• Nurse triage
• Patient education in self-care and preventitive measures

The patient population represents the entire Carle health care enterprise and the community at large. Services are provided to all age groups regardless of healthcare status or need.

The department is staffed by registered nurses representing a broad variety of clinical experiences. If a caller’s concern does not clearly fall within the criteria of a guideline, the nurse will consult with the appropriate physician for directive of care.
