Director of Osteopathic Education

Carle Physician Group, Urbana, Illinois is currently seeking a Director of Osteopathic Medical Education for Carle Foundation Hospital’s community-based Family Medicine residency program. 

The incoming physician must be Board Certified by the AOBFP, have a minimum of 3 years of academic experience, and have experience in a community-based setting. The Carle Family Medicine residency is affiliated with the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM), has been in place since 1989, and is dually accredited by the AOA/ACGME.

Practice Opportunity Details Include:

  • 70 percent academic role; 30 percent clinical role
  • The residency program accepts 5 residents per year
  • Incoming physician will assume an academic role in the residency program and be responsible for curriculumdevelopment, precepting residents in the clinic, chairing the Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education Committee, and functioning as a liaison with the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine
  • No OB experience necessary
  • Ready-made clinical practice features full-spectrum Family Medicine and a light call schedule (2 calls a month)
  • Carle Foundation Hospital supports both research and teaching as part of its mission
  • The Carle Family Medicine residency is a small, personal, and relatively unopposed program with a favorable faculty to resident ratio
